Justice D. H. Wagheia
President Pranab Mukherjee has appointed Justice D. H. Waghela, Judge of the Gujarat High Court, as the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court. He succeeds justice Vikramajit Sen, elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court. Justice Waghela (58) practised in Rajkot and the Gujarat High Court in civil, criminal, constitutional, labour, public interest litigations, service and pollution matters.

BOBBY GHOSH NAMED TIME WORLD EDITOR
Eminent Indian journalist Bobby Ghosh has been named the new editor of Time International based in the US. Ghosh was appointed on March 15, 2013 as the first non-American world editor in Time's history. He replaces Jim Frederick, who now becomes a contributing editor.

MOSHE YAALON
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appointed Moshe Yaalon, a sight-wing former armed forces chief, to be Israel's defence minister on March 17, 2013, saying his experience was needed to tackle challenges in a turbulent Middle East. Yaalon replaces Ehud Barak, who headed a centre left party
